how can your family give back?

LETS COME UP WITH A PLAN

Think about this...

  • Teaching our young ones about homelessness and hunger creates understanding and empathy
  • Teaching our teens about dating violence helps them identify red flags in their own lives
  • Introducing our families to health resources and military efforts creates gratitude
  • Showing our kids about the arts and community give them a perspective outside their bubble
  • Volunteering as a family creates conversation and a shared identity
  • Are you being intentional about how you are spending your time and energy?

How about..

Adopting a family for the Holidays? Feeding the homeless? Serving the elderly?

Reading to puppies at SPCA? Farming at Bonton? Beautification work at a shelter?

Planting trees? Leading a donation drive?

Coming up with a plan helps the family to commit to giving back.

STEP ONE:

STEP THREE:

STEP ONE:

When picking the right placement for your family, we talk about:

  • Age of kids in family
  • Causes the family feels passionate about
  • Any special talents you want to share?
  • What issues the family wants to learn more about
  • Reoccurring projects vs one-time projects
  • What kind of time commitment works?
  • Timing (week day, weekend, evening, day)
  • Location, safety, ease, convenience, feasibility
  • Impact and outcomes
  • Budget

STEP TWO:

STEP THREE:

STEP ONE:

We meet and go over an organized plan tailored for your family.

Plan includes:

  • Volunteer timeline
  • Education information (age appropriate questions and conversation)
  • Project details
  • Logistic information (driving instructions, parking, clothing, what to bring, what not to bring, what to expect, are pictures allowed)
  • Project contact information
  • Sign up information (if applicable)
  • Background check information (not necessary for most projects)

STEP THREE:

STEP THREE:

STEP THREE:

I want to hear everything!

What worked?

What can be approved?

I want to know and the Non-Profits want feedback.

Wrap up package includes:

  • Impact that was made (including any personal stories)
  • Capture volunteer hours
  • Thank you from Non-Profit
  • Any applicable tax receipts
  • Leadership opportunities
  • ldeas on what might be a good fit for next year (some families like to stay at the same organizations and some like to tackle other issue areas)
